Setting your goals: What do you want to achieve for yourself?

Do some digging into your desires for yourself and find what would help you feel more like yourself. Being a mom is wonderful and special, but it is easy to feel like you’ve lost yourself along the way. Finding what you desire for yourself, is the first step to getting back time for you!

Releasing the Guilt: Turning off that nagging feeling that you aren’t doing enough.

Maybe you know exactly how you would like to spend time on yourself, but there’s something holding you back. You are a mom, all of your time should be given to your kids, right?! WRONG! We will work to reset the way your brain thinks about what it means to be a mom, so it learns that taking time for you is necessary!

It’s hard to find time for yourself when you’re a mom. In our online community, our focus is making self-care actionable, realistic, and attainable EVERY DAY! You can check in to our virtual community each day and share what you need help with, or cheer someone else on. We will also hold monthly virtual calls led by me, where you can ask your questions and get answers to help you through!

The story behind This Mom Matters

Hi, and welcome to This Mom Matters! My name is Nicolette and I am the life coach behind this business. I am a former teacher and mom to two amazing kiddos! My reason for creating this coaching business is to help other moms reclaim the pieces of themselves that they set aside when they became a mom. I help moms grow in confidence and self fulfillment so that they feel like more than “just a mom.”

After my daughter was born, I left my teaching job and was blessed to be able to stay home with her. I loved it (and still do) but I slowly felt myself drifting away. I didn’t have any time for myself and when I did, I had no idea what to do with it, so I spent it sitting on the couch and scrolling on my phone. I knew that I wanted to find something for myself so I started to slowly work on finding small hobbies I could do while she napped or after she went to bed. I was able to work a small amount of time into my day that was just for me…and then my son was born! It seemed like I got lost all over again. Then it really didn’t feel like I had time for myself. I was back in newborn mode and even when he slept, my daughter didn’t, which was something new to get used to! Again, I had to work in small steps to find time for myself throughout the day. 

Throughout my journey to finding me again, separate from being a mom, I realized that a lot of other moms probably felt the same way as me. I wondered if there was some way I could help other moms get “unstuck.” That’s when I discovered life coaching and started on my journey to help other moms find themselves again after motherhood. As I reflected back on my journey I realized one big thing that was stopping me was the guilt that crept into my mind to tell me that I should be using my time to do something else. The term “mom guilt” is used a lot. It can be overwhelming when you have little ones at home and feel like you can barely keep up. Many moms hear an inner voice that is pestering them about what they “should” be doing. What chores need to be done, what activity should you be doing with your child so that they are smart, kind, helpful, and a good person? That inner voice can get loud and overbearing and difficult to turn off. Through my coaching I help guide moms on a journey to finding ways to quiet that voice so that they can find time for themselves throughout their day. This process leads to my clients finding and seeing themselves again, as their own person.

Having time just for mom is important, it helps you to feel like your own individual, separate from your children. It also helps to foster calm and patience, which reduces burnout. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to what to do in your limited free time. We will work together to find what fits you, your day, your family, and your needs. No pressure, no expectations, no guilt.

How are the coaching sessions conducted?

Sessions will be conducted online with a secure connection. No need to worry about when to fit in a session, during naptime, school, or after bedtime is perfect!

What is personalized coaching?

Personalized coaching is comprised of a series of private coaching sessions where we work on goals and the steps needed to achieve them. Everything is tailored to you and your needs, which will be determined in the first few sessions.

What time commitment is required for the personalized coaching?

Each week we will meet at the same day and time for 45 minutes to talk about how things are going and to work on the next steps in achieving your goals. An overall commitment of 6 months is required in order to fully realize the goals outlined in the initial session.

What results can I expect from the personalized coaching?

From personalized coaching you can expect to learn: what you truly need to feel yourself, how to develop a positive mindset, how to release the “mom guilt” that keeps nagging at you, and how to feel more present and patient with your family.

How much does the coaching cost?

Personalized coaching for a commitment of 3 months is an upfront payment of $900.

Our online community has two membership options: Nourish is $12/month and Flourish is $30/month. You can find more information about the membership differences here.

How do I know if the coaching is working?

You’ll know the coaching is working when you start to see changes in your mindset as well as your demeanor. You will start to feel more calm, and more like your own person. Instead of being stuck in the day to day chaos of being a mom, you’ll feel yourself start to break free into your own person.
